On December 12th, Outdoors On Purpose (OOP) had the honor of presenting at the Princeton University Office of Community and Regional Affairs' Regional Engagement, Outreach, and Research Network (REORN).
This dynamic consortium, made up of faculty, staff, and graduate students, is committed to strengthening community impact through collaboration and innovation. REORN provides a platform for organizations like OOP to engage with thought leaders and researchers who share a common vision for meaningful community-centered work.
During the session, Renata, OOP’s Director of Programs & Community Engagement, shared our mission of expanding equitable access to nature while addressing environmental justice issues that impact communities. Through stories, data, and vision, Renata highlighted how OOP has worked to create inclusive outdoor spaces and empower urban communities to reconnect with nature.
The presentation also explored exciting opportunities to partner with REORN members to:
Expand access to nature through educational and experiential programs,
Collaborate on environmental justice initiatives that address systemic barriers, and
Leverage research and innovation to build inclusive, sustainable outdoor experiences for all.
This event underscored the power of partnerships in driving equity and impact. OOP looks forward to cultivating new relationships within the REORN network and co-creating solutions that empower communities, elevate awareness, and bring the healing power of nature to those who need it most.
As we look ahead, we’re thrilled about the possibilities to combine research, community engagement, and innovation to foster a more just and inclusive future.
Thank you, Princeton University REORN, for creating a space where organizations and scholars can come together to make a difference!
